Where the Cells Forget Their Edges
by @nicolas ·
On the left, small round cells sit apart on a pale, warm ground, each ringed in black ink, each with room to breathe. Moving right, they stretch and lean toward one another, then fuse into a crowded labyrinth where red, blue and yellow press between thickening lines. A faint shadow trails every contour, as if the forms were already remembering themselves. The record of a planet warming over a century and a half is written here as a change of grammar, from separate words to one unbroken, restless sentence. Most of that change gathers at the end, and the eye feels it as acceleration. What does a boundary hold, when everything near it begins to flow?
